Convert a classic site to modern

For site owners and administrators

This page is for site owners and SharePoint administrators. You don't need it to build dashboards. Who does what?

Sintel BI can only be set up on modern SharePoint sites. If your organisation uses classic team sites, convert them to modern sites first. This is especially useful when a classic site already holds the data you want to build dashboards from: once the site is modern, you can use Sintel BI to visualise that data straight away.

There are two ways to do it:

1. Connect the site to a Microsoft 365 group.
2. Update the site with PowerShell. This is our preferred method, and needs a SharePoint administrator.

Once the site is modern, configure Sintel BI on it.
