Change an existing dashboard

Use this page when a dashboard already exists and you want to change it: add a filter, swap a field on a chart, or fix a title.

Who can change a dashboard

  • Site owners can change every dashboard.
  • Other people can change a dashboard only if it was shared with them with Can edit. Ask the person who built it, or your site owner.

If you don't see an Edit button, you only have view access. Editing isn't available on phones and tablets.

Open the dashboard in edit mode

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit in the dashboard's top bar. The dashboard opens in the designer.

You can also click the pen icon on the dashboard's tile on the Dashboards page, or pick Edit from the tile's menu.

Change a component

  1. Click the component on the dashboard to select it. Its settings open in the settings pane on the right.
  2. To see or change its data, open the Assign Data tab. The Data source selector at the top shows which data source the component uses.
  3. Next to each field in a slot:
    • Replace swaps it for another field,
    • Remove takes it out,
    • for a chart value, the aggregation (for example Sum or Count) sets how it's calculated.
  4. To add a field, click the slot (or its + button) and pick the field.
  5. To change the title, colours and other settings, open the Properties tab.

To add a new component, drag it from the Widgets pane, see Add a component to a dashboard. To delete one, select it and use Delete selected component in the designer's top bar.
